Stop the Secrets

Let's just be honest here...blogging is about sharing our worlds and being honest, right? Well honestly, I'm extremely indecisive (I think that might be an understatement). I feel like before I can even finish decorating a room, I decide that I want something completely different. Anyone else understand that same frustration?

So to me (and it shouldn't be to you), it's no surprise that I've decided to go a different direction in our master bedroom.

This used to be my inspiration room...

Image from velvet and linen.

I'd become extremely frustrated. I wasn't finding the pieces I was hoping for, and I just didn't feel like the room was really me, although it is lovely. So after a lot of back and forth, and searching through my inspiration files, I've decided that I want a version of this space...

This one has been in my "inspiration files" for as long as I can remember. I've always loved how calm and serene the room seems. And I think that it's definitely the country-shabby chic style that I diagnosed myself with awhile back.

So there we are. The new bedroom inspiration. Have you ever switched inspirations in the middle of a room or project?

Stay tuned for a post next week that details my first step in making this room a reality in my own home. x

I am so with you on how frustrating it is to just settle with one style - there are so many great ideas out there! I need a house with 20 different bedrooms so I can utilize all the different styles - but then it would bug me that my house wasn't cohesive...It's a no-win situation!! :-)

No, but really, I love your first inspiration picture. But like you, I don't think it's really "me," no matter how much I love it. Your new inspiration room, I think, is right on. Perfect mix of calming, vintage, unique. I can't wait to see how your new room turns out!

So glad to have found another indecisive decorater! I have the exact same problem as you. I will come up with a look and even start buying pieces for that look & be out shopping and see something completely different that I like better. With so many choices out there, it is hard for me to make my mind up.. soo I sympathize with you! I look forward to following your blog.

I change my mind allll the time! Sometimes so far into a project that i'm a little embarrassed to say I goofed up. But to make the room of your dreams... go big & never settle =)

absolutely!!! my son's big boy room that I am planning . . can't tell yo how many ways I have gone and how many returns I have done. The beauty of it is that you are your own client so switch it up as much as you want, girl!

This happens to all of us! You're not alone, girlfriend. And you deserve the room YOU want and love, so change it until you get what you want (:

I'm hitting you up with tons of comments tonight, sorry! New follower, getting caught up :)

It reminds me of something I had read about the set designers for Will & Grace. Grace's apartment was never designed because designers are the worst at doing their own homes. I think it is because we immerse ourselves with so many beautiful images. My home is in constant change.

I had to come back over to check out that first room for some inspiration since those are my office colors! :)
