Charming Chandeliers

I am a down home, lakehouse loving, cut-off jeans, Texas girl...and I love that! But can I be honest? Sometimes I love the elegance of a gorgeous chandelier. The best thing about chandeliers today is that they can often be extremely affordable. Here are some affordable and probably not so affordable chandeliers...

A shabby chic little girls room.
A chandelier is the perfect touch to make any girl feel like a princess!
Can't afford a chandelier? Chandelier wall decals are a nice but still cheap touch.
Another great option is searching for a reasonably priced chandelier on eBay...give it a coat of spray paint in the color of your choice...and voila! A brand new chandelier.
Affordable? Probably not. Beautiful? Oh yes.
A chandelier in the bathroom? Yes, please!

Do any of you have chandeliers in your home? Did you get a great deal on it or was it a major expense? I'd love to see some pictures. x

Toile de Jouy

I love the look of toile! I think it's something that can be used in a very simple design or in a very extravagant design, in a country styled room or in a room straight out of a French chateau. In my search for beautiful examples of the use of toile I also came across the "history" of toile and learned that the word toile is abbreviated from the full name Toile de Jouy. Toile de Jouy originated in France in the late 1700s and the phrase literally means "cloth from Jouy-en-Josas", which is a town in north-central France. But no matter where toile comes from or what it means, I think that it is definitely a great addition to any room!

This toile comforter and sheet set is subtle and a great accent in this very modern style room.

Are these toile rain-boots adorable or what??

Toile is often a white or cream colored background with the print in one color, but modern designs have switched things up just a little bit.

Another modern interpretation of toile...oversized toile.

The toile curtains in this photo are a great accent to the country style kitchen and dining area.

Probably my most favorite of all of the images. I love the mix of different toile prints and the strong statement that the blue headboard makes. The brushed nickel lamp and purple flowers provide the perfect accent to the room.
