Inspiration and Memo Board

This weekend I finally got around to finishing the project that used the other fabric I've been talking about (here and here). In case you don't remember, here's what the fabric looked like...

And using that fabric I made an inspiration/memo board for our office redo.

The process was easy, but tedious. There are so many good tutorials out there about this  kind of project (I generally followed these three: name 5 things, honey we're home, bryn alexandra), so I won't bore you with all of my instructions. Instead, I'll let you know what supplies I used , give you one  small pointer, and then we'll get to the good stuff...the pictures.

Supplies:
  • Bulletin board (around $10 at Walmart)
  • Fabric (mine is from fabric.com)
  • Scissors
  • Spray adhesive (around $5 at Walmart)
  • Staple gun & staples
  • Thumb tacks (300ish)
  • Iron
One Tip:
If you're impatient or OCD (like me) it may be in your best interest to buy nail head trim to give the bulletin board the embellishments. In the long run, I'm glad I went with the thumb tacks because it saved a lot of money (I was able to buy a box of 400 thumb tacks for $2 at Staples), but the process was very tedious and frustrating at times. And even with all of the thumb tacks that I removed and put back on the board, they still aren't perfectly straight...arg.

The bulletin board hanging in the office...

{Now do you see why I asked you (seen here) if the two fabric worked together?}

I'm so happy with the result! It adds such a great pop of color in the room, and I am happy to say that the two fabrics do work well side-by-side.

What did you work on this weekend? x

Psst -- I'll be sure to show you the rest of that wall later this week. We've made another addition to the room that I'm excited to show you.
