During Christmas break I've had quite a bit of time to just sit and chill, and it has been the absolute best. Last week during this free time I was able to watch one of my favorite movies...Sex and The City: The Movie. Well, the other day for the first time I noticed the gorgeous design of Carrie's new apartment, post-"Big" breakup. For those of you who aren't obsessed with this silly (but fabulous) TV show and movie probably have no idea who "Big" is but that's okay because what really matters here is how gorgeous Carrie's apartment makeover is...
This is the small seating in Carrie's one bedroom apartment. I love the mix of very girly sofa fabrics and the modern look of the wall mounted TV and built in entertainment center. In the movie you see that each panel of the entertainment center opens up for storage.
I love both of these mirrored side tables which I found out in reading another blog (sorry, I can't remember where I read it) were made especially for the movie. To the left you can see Carrie's clean line, white parson's desk sitting on the plumb and cream colored rug, which I love as well.
This last shot is Carrie's bedroom and the right doorway leads into her fabulous closet and bathroom. I love the fact that the bedspread on Carrie's bed isn't typically what you would put with the bright blue walls and modern furniture, but something about it just works. The picture collage over the bed looks great as well, there is no specific pattern to it all but it is a great accent.
There are many things I love about this apartment but here are just a few...
- The color! It such a happy, uplifting color. I'm not sure that I'd be so bold to paint my entire home or apartment in this color but I think it would be just gorgeous in a living room or bedroom with pops of white.
- The designer of this set, Jeremy Conway, does a great job of turning this one bedroom apartment into three separate rooms. He breaks up the space with pieces of furniture and different rugs.
- Lastly, I love that this apartment doesn't just scream matchy-matchy. Many of the items aren't things you'd just put together but the eclectic mix definitely works.

YES PLEASE!!!! I love that show and the movie :) Mind you I would love to live in her apartment with it's original decor, or the amazing new penthouse apartment, especially if Mr Big was part of the deal ;). Fantastic post Carly - I love it!!
Oh good, I'm glad some people love Sex and the City as much as I do. :) I'd love to live in the penthouse as well, heck..I could live in her closet in the penthouse! :)
Gorgeous...I love all the different occasional tables she has scattered throughout the place...when I say she..I mean the set designer..lol
